Modular Transportable Design
Shown above is an example of multi-shell diversity. This example is model 548, a 24 ft. diameter dome by 30 ft. long.
Our transportables are made in a similar process to the made in place thin shelled concrete domes. We utilize a high
technology light weight structural strength concrete that allows greatly reduced dead loads for the pre-made
concrete floors and highly reduced total weight of the units while retaining structural strength to make these units
safe and strong. The units that we presently offer are designed as single, stand alone units or 2 piece units that bolt
together such as model 415 (shown above).
These buildings are ideal for small cottages, lake homes or even a starter home. The fire-proof construction,
resistance to natural disasters and extreme energy efficiency ensure a long useful return for your investment. Molded
foam overhangs provide protection from weather for doors and windows. Renewing the exterior is a simple process of
cleaning and recoating with more urethane rubber coating. There is a nice color selection and simplified repair of the
exterior if damage should occur. Standard Features on our transportable domes include:
* 3 pound density urethane foam
* Engineered reinforced concrete shells
* High density molded foam overhangs for doors and windows
* Minimum 6 gallons/square urethane coating with 6 oz. / yd polyester fabric
* Mineral or ceramic roofing granules for exterior membrane texture
* Custom designs: We build what you really need!
Options include
*Triple Pane Vinyl Windows
We offer custom designed units to meet the special needs and desires of our customers. There is a design fee and
engineering cost in some cases.
Our Base is Top Notch!
We have spent a significant amount of time researching and laying out optimal floor plans for transportable units to be
used as 1 or 2 person rentals. Our goal is to build a significant amount of these units for use in northern Minnesota.
Larger diameter domes are less expensive to build for several reasons. In building spherical and eliptical domes the
most advantageous ratio of shell to floor area is found with no stem wall (no straight wall before the dome shell starts
curving). The more stem wall added for the sake of head clearance at the wall, the higher the cost and weight per
square foot of floor area. Because we are limited on the dimension of our structures for transporting and the floor
span, we end up with an absolute size limit of 15 feet wide for a half dome segment and and 10.5 to 11.5 feet tall
depending on the trailer height.
Our units can be made as large as 700 square feet of floor area with 2 halves made complete and joined together at
the site of installation. Units wider than 24 feet total may be restricted to closer delivery points or extra cost as
they would require escort vehicles
We do offer some very nice larger transportable units that may be ideal as 1 or 2 bedroom living units. Model 706 is a
spacious 2 bedroom, 706 square feet of living area. This can also be designed as a 1 bedroom, custom designed unit.
There are many custom design options, design fees will apply. Contact us for more information.

Our Unique Difference
Whether you want to call them cabins,
transportables, or portable domes, we
offer features never before offered
in concrete domes; reduced weight,
modular design, extensive
possibilities.
Light Weight Concrete
5 years of research and
developement have led us to
the final “fine tuning” of our
mix design. High technology
components including an
advanced admixture allow us
to gain both structural
strength and a huge reduction
in weight.
